The Process

Ethical Currency acts as a wholesale provider of physical, electronic currency. We hold over forty different currency accounts with major banks ensuring security of funds whilst held with Ethical Currency. By opening one free, no obligations account with Ethical Currency, you can receive, transact between and make payments in any of those currencies. This means that you don’t have the headache of monitoring and paying for a host of currency accounts. We do that for you.

Once your account is open you can phone up, email or access your online account to check on currency exchange rates and find out what has been happening in the currency markets. Should you choose to execute a trade you can do so by telephone or email, or yourself online.

Once a trade has been executed it is confirmed with you electronically. Thereafter you send the currency that you have transacted to Ethical Currency’s nominated currency account and instruct us where to send the currency that you have exchanged on to. We make the payment via the international SWIFT settlement system and you pocket the difference between the rate the bank would have offered and the rate that we did. Simple.

You can also work orders in the market at better rates than the current spot market at no extra cost. Our free daily market information and the opinions of our currency dealers are always at hand to inform and aid you in making the best decisions of how to transact your currency too. We then take a small percentage of the profit that we’ve made on any client’s trade and donate that on in the form of the Currency Transaction Levy to people fighting HIV and AIDS, TB and Malaria.
